Trying Kontera - Contextual Advertisting

April 12th, 2007 by alex

As you can see today I have implemented Kontera Ads with my blog. Kontera is a contextual advertising network that offers In Text advertising based on keywords within a body of text, practically they crawl the page where the code is placed and they place links on specified keywords. Kontera works very well for sites with a lot of content, for example their ads will work great for Collins College - Click Here.

You can see examples of Kontera Ads on my blog when you go with the mouse over the double underlined links. I am pleased with the fact that you don’t need to do any optimzation, they do all the work for you. Until I see the first results with Kontera here are some stats from other Kontera users (thanks DoshDosh):

  • $30.20 from 6063 impressions and 295 clicks
  • $18.88 from 5374 impressions / 218 clicks
  • $110.0 from 6,003 impressions / 1270 clicks
  • $0.34 from 115 impressions / 7 clicks

Well, I think the ads looks nice and don’t take a lot of space. I will be back with more stats and more tips for Kontera Ads in the next days.

Very cool. I’ve seen the ads before but hadn’t heard much about them yet. They integrate rather nicely and they don’t appear to affect site load. I’ll be interested in hearing more about your results with Kontera.

Well I have some good clicks at Kontera like 0.20$ - 0.30$ / click, I am not sure if I will keep them or not on my blog as I read many discussion that their form of ads will make readers go away…
