Full feeds in Wordpress 2.1

February 12th, 2007 by alex

One of the problems with the new version of WordPress (2.1 Ella) is that if you use < !–more– > feature to cut posts on your blog it will also cut your your feeds even if you want to show full posts to your RSS Readers.

CaveMonkey50 has developed a plugin called “Full Text Feed” that prevents WordPress 2.1+ from adding a ‘more’ link to your RSS feed and I am sure that this will help a lot of bloggers if they want to publish their full feeds.

If you think “Full Text Feed” is good for your blog you can download the plugin here.

Many thnaks to JohnTP for promoting this plugin.

Hmm I am not to sure wether I want to fix this though because If they have to come to the site to read the rest of the article then they will generate traffic for me. However John Chow thinks that having a full feed is well worth it.

Well I think my readers will appreciate the thing that I am not forcing them to come at my blog to read the full articles.

Qwerty_ I am sorry but your comments are also marked as spam and I have to de-spam them, I don’t understand why…

Thats rather odd I noticed that the comment did not go in but thought that it was because you had to approve it, never thought that Akismet would eat it. I think I might install this plugin perhaps it will get me more readers.
