Three New Plugins (for my blog)
May 24th, 2007 by alexI have recently installed three plugins to make my blog a better one and make my work easy. First of all I must say I was receiving over 1000 spam comments and Akismet blocked all of them but it was hard for me to check if there were any good comments marked as spam so I did some searches and find out a good way to stop all that spam comments:
Math Comment Spam Protection Plugin
This plugin asks the visitor a simple math question to verify if is a machine or a human. I am really satisfied because now I have about 2-3 spam comments marked by Akismet instead of +1000.
The second plugin it was the one that ads a digg button to every post, I am talking about Digg This. It was a good plugin but to many things had to be done in order to make that button to appear and it was annoying. I thought I should remove this plugin, but I found a similar plugin which is easy to install and use:
This plugin allows users to submit a story to digg or if the story was already submitted it allows visitors to vote for the respective story. You can see this plugin “at work” near the title of every post in my blog.
Comments are very important for every blog, so I thought it was time to enchant a little bit my comments form with some tags (many thanks to JohnTP). Along with this plugin there are others that can help increasing comments on blogs:
This plugin makes commenting more easy for visitors. It ads a tag bar when they can use bold or italic and even add links more quicker than before. Check out my comment form !
